EMDR Therapy for Roswell, GA Trauma, PTSD and Complex PTSD Care Close to Home
Roswell is Alpharetta's neighbor to the south, and the Authentic Answers office is only a few miles up Alpharetta Highway from Historic Roswell. For most Roswell residents, weekly in-person EMDR is realistic. Jeremy Fox, LPC, offers EMDR therapy for trauma, PTSD and Complex PTSD at the office or by video. There is no separate Roswell office.
A Short Drive North
From Roswell City Hall and the Canton Street area, go north on Alpharetta Highway (GA-9), which becomes South Main Street in Alpharetta, to 314 Maxwell Rd, Suite 400. It is about 5 miles, roughly 10 to 15 minutes in light traffic. If you live in east Roswell near Holcomb Bridge Road, GA-400 north is another option.
Video on Busy Weeks
Since the drive is short, most Roswell clients come in. Video is still available on a secure platform when a sick day, a schedule crunch or simply feeling more settled at home makes it the better choice. You need to be in Georgia for video sessions.
When Roswell Clients Reach Out
There is rarely one tidy reason someone starts trauma therapy. For some, a single event keeps replaying, such as a car crash, a medical emergency, or an assault. For others, the weight built up over years, through a home that never felt safe or a partner who chipped away at their confidence. That longer, layered kind of injury is what clinicians call Complex PTSD. If you are a veteran, service member, first responder, or part of a military family, you are welcome here, and Authentic Answers is an in-network TRICARE provider.
Some of what tends to bring a Roswell neighbor to the first call:
- Being jolted awake by nightmares, or reliving a moment you would rather forget
- A body that will not stand down, even on a quiet evening at home
- Old family pain that keeps surfacing in how you see yourself
- Betrayal, abuse, or control inside a close relationship
- Grief after a death that came without warning
- Spacing out, losing time, or watching your life from a distance
How Jeremy Approaches EMDR
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing is a structured trauma therapy with eight phases. The World Health Organization lists it among recommended treatments for post-traumatic stress. During processing, you bring a painful memory to mind in brief sets while following side-to-side eye movements or alternating taps. The purpose is to let the brain finish filing an experience that got stuck. Jeremy has a fuller write-up if you want the details: a plain-language guide to EMDR.
Nothing about it is rushed. Early sessions cover your story and your goals, then shift to building steadiness, with grounding skills you can use between appointments. Memory processing only starts once that footing is in place, and for people with Complex PTSD that groundwork can take a while by design. Later sessions check what has changed and how you want to carry it forward. Results differ from one person to the next, and Jeremy will be straight with you about what is realistic.
A weekly rhythm is not the only option. For some clients, condensed EMDR intensives spread the work over a few longer days instead.
