EMDR Consultation for Clinicians With an EMDRIA Approved Consultant
Learning EMDR is one thing. Using it with real clients, with real complexity, is another. Good consultation gives you a place to bring the cases that stall, the sessions that loop, and the questions training could not fully answer. Jeremy Fox, LPC, CPCS, is an EMDRIA Approved Consultant who offers consultation to EMDR clinicians at several stages of their development.
Who Consultation Is For
Completing EMDRIA basic training
Consultation toward completion of an EMDRIA-approved basic training, for clinicians who have finished the didactic and practicum portions and are now using EMDR with clients.
Working toward EMDRIA Certification
Consultation for therapists pursuing EMDRIA Certification, with a focus on fidelity to the standard protocol and confidence across all eight phases.
Working toward Approved Consultant status
Consultation for EMDRIA Certified Therapists who want to become Approved Consultants themselves, including how to consult on the work of other clinicians.
What Consultation Focuses On
The goal is a rich foundation in the Adaptive Information Processing model and in case conceptualization, so that you can work through blocked reprocessing with confidence instead of guessing. Cases are understood through the AIP lens first, and technique follows from that understanding.
Jeremy has particular depth in dissociation, Complex PTSD, and attachment trauma, and consultation often includes:
Ego state interventions for clients whose parts or self-states shape how processing unfolds.
Cognitive interweaves for moments when reprocessing loops or stalls.
Attachment-based modifications for clients whose early relational history narrows their window of tolerance.
Somatic-focused EMDR, as taught by Dr. Arielle Schwartz, under whom Jeremy trained.
